Russia’s New Rules for Foreign Jets: A new Russian regulation introducing a non-objection procedure for foreign air carriers in Russia has been in effect since June 21.
Charter flights to and from Russia by non-Russian operators must now obtain approval five days before their flight in the form of a non-objection order from eight local operators.
International operators wishing to fly into Russia must send their requests to the selected Russian operators, the list of which is published on the Federal Air Transport Agency’s website at least five working days before then submitting to the Federal Air Transport Agency.
There are a number of instances when the requests are not required, including for transit flight operations through Russia and for humanitarian flight operations, medical evacuations, help during natural disasters, etc.
