New Terminal for Kinshasa Airport: The construction of Central Africa’s largest air terminal has begun at Kinshasa Airport.

Plans for the state-of-the-art terminal were unveiled by DRC President Joseph Kabila in May.

The terminal will be situated beside N’Djili International Airport (Kinshasa International Airport) to accommodate the growing annual flow of aircraft and passenger traffic, currently estimated at three million.

Moreover, the development will guarantee safety and high-quality standards as per ICAO expectations.

The new terminal building will cover an area of over 40,000 square meters, apron and tarmac space of approximately 75,000 square meters, as well as car parking for over 1,200 vehicles.

The development plan includes an extension of the parallel taxiway and straps of just under 69,000 square meters.

The project will also include the acquisition of handling equipment, software, and other equipment.

Construction will continue until 2021.
