Flight Operations to Riyadh: The Saudi Airshow gets underway in Riyadh from March 12-14. The show is taking place at Thumamah Airport, just under 30km north of King Khalid International Airport. Here’s what operators need to know ahead of missions to Riyadh’s main gateway.

Operational Information
  • A visa is required for all passengers nationality to be issued from the origin of passengers except GCC countries
  • All crew can enter on the GenDec and in uniform for 72 hours, it’s possible for this to be extended for good reasons, for example, a technical problem with the aircraft
  • Full facilities available for passengers and crew: customs clearance and luggage collect and scanning
  • Alcohol is prohibited in Saudi and if there is any on board it must be hidden and locked in
  • There are no parking restrictions
  • There are no significant NOTAMs at this time
  • FBO facilities are available for VIP flights and the Royal terminal for diplomatic flights
  • UAS can obtain landing permits for non-scheduled commercial flights and private flights within 24 hours or less
