Cochin Airport Suspends Operations: Kerala’s main gateway, Cochin International Airport, has suspended operations until Saturday afternoon.

Major flooding in the south Indian state has resulted in the deaths of up to 80 people with more heavy downpours forecast for the coming days.

Torrential rain has led to overflowing rivers and landslides, and Wednesday’s release at Mullaperiyar dam resulted in a further increase of the water level.
