The New Platov International Airport is due to open later this year. Here is some information about the airport serving the Rostov-On-Don region. 

Platov International Airport – due to officially open this month – is the biggest infrastructure project in the Rostov region of the Russian Federation. Part of the program of infrastructural works in preparation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, Platov Airport is the first airport in post-Soviet history to be built from scratch and will replace current Rostov-On-Don airport. Here’s the latest airport information UAS has obtained.

  • Aircraft parking: 45 
  • Runway: 3,600 x 45 meters 

The airport will have a cargo capacity of 20,000 tons per year. There will be parking for 2,500 vehicles. The total area of the passenger terminal is 50,000 sq. meters with a capacity of 1,791 per hour, and an estimated yearly capacity of five million.
